A front came through overnight so its pretty chilly and windy today! But the sun shines!
We started our day here in Cody by visiting the gift shop at the museum. We've had a running joke - when we get to Cody I'd look for a bronze statue of an Indian or a cowboy. Well, we found a good selection of them, starting at $700. So I guess not.
We left Cody heading for Yellowstone. The drive from Cody to the East Entrance is spectacular! First, you pass the Buffalo Bill Dam and reservoir. Then interesting cliff formations following the Shoshone River.
From the East Entrance you start up hill, ending up at around 8000 feet. Its not very pretty. Everywhere you look there are scars from previous wildfires.
We stopped at West Thumb for a walk around the boardwalk. Then on up past Old Faithful, Madison Junction and on to West Yellowstone. We ended our day in Rexburg at the same Sure Stay Hotel that we stayed at two weeks ago. Unsatisfying dinner at a family place that had been recommended called the Red Rabbit.
Tomorrow we head for home! We're ready!
