Oh well, it's drizzling rain all day today. After a nice breakfast in the hotel dining room, we did a little browsing in the Medora shops. We asked if they had noticed a burst of business from all those people coming to the Library since it opened July 1. We heard the same thing over and over. Summer is always crazy busy all summer anyway so it was hard to tell. The real tell will be to see what happens after Labor Day and over the winter. Most the shops had always closed up for the winter and re-opened in the spring. Only the hotels stayed open, with a skelton staff.
It will also be interesting to see what the Library attendance trends are after a year. I suspect most people consider this a one time visit. The people coming now had, like us, been looking forward to its opening.
We spent the afternoon driving around he park loop road, in the other direction. We were so glad to have been here yesterday when the weather was so perfect. We still saw the wild horses and got stuck in the bison jam. I did a few short hikes for the views but its dark and dreary, which also makes the yellow foliage (Green Ash) stick out beautifully.
Dinner tonight at the Little Missouri Saloon.
Tomorrow we head south to the Black Hills.
